It's a WIN!!!! Home field advantage! YEEEESSS!!! Go GIANTS!!!

This was one of the most nail biting games I've seen in a long time. Even though I had faith that the Giants would persevere. How exciting was that touchdown that turned into two extra points to tie the game. And what a fantastic jon Ward did with moving the ball. But I still love Jacobs!

Times are hard...

It's the Saturday before Christmas and still more layoffs or layoff related issues. my cousin text me Thurs. evening to say he was just laid off and Friday is his last day. The Friday before Christmas. And if that wasn't bad enough a former employee at my job who was laid off almost 2 months ago filed for unemployment this past week. After applying the STATE of New York decided that would be a good time to audit him. Which turns out that he owes and has to pay his balance by January 9th.

I don't understand how in this economy why the State of New York would look for payment from someone who has lost their job and looking for assistance. What since does that make? Where do they think the money for payment is going to come from? After paying rent, electric and food there isn't any extra funds.

Let's hope that in 2009 more jobs will be available, which is the brain that my cousin is working out of.

More Fare Hikes?

The MTA held there public meeting today to announce their plan to raise fares and cut services. How does that work in the same sentence, they're basically saying charge you more for less.

A rider reached for his shoe and yelled "This shoe is for you!" at MTA chief Elliot Sander during a board meeting Wednesday morning in which proposed fare hikes were approved.

Shouting "You made $300,000 last year and this shoe is for you!," Stephen Millies, 54, of Jackson Heights, was trying to remove his shoe when security stopped him.

This was a definite reference to the Sundays episode at a news conference in Baghdad in which President George W. Bush ducked two shoes thrown at him by an Iraqi journalist who yelled at Bush in Arabic.

It's Christmas time in the city...

Here we are another Holiday Season aka Christmas. As I get older I become more and more confused as to what Christmas really means and the purpose it should serve. I thought it was supposed to be a spiritual event not all about who bought the biggest and who received the latest. Christmas Shopping

This new Christmas has become a depressing stressful holiday, especially in this economy. Why do we feel going in debt is a celebration. It's not! What happened to church, family, support and just plan old loving thy neighbor and let's not forget celebrating the birth of Christ. The birth of Christ. If there has never been a better time to go back to traditional Christmas now is the time. Go to church on on Christmas eve, come home and exchange gifts within the immediate family that are more personal than expensive. Have a quiet dinner and show appreciation for each other.

Getting Ready for a New: Change for 2009

I don't usually believe in New Year's Resolutions but have to say I am really pumped to start. I haven't spoken on the election since I abandoned this blog for a while. GO! OBAMA! I was so intrigued with this year's election like never before. It made me realize that our country i in need of drastic changes and what better way to start then with the first black president. Someone who has been in the trenches for most of his career, as well as his Vice President. That's what our country is in dier need of, an administration that isn't so far removed from everyday people.

With this new president coming into office it really began to give me a boost of hope as well as doing some self evaluation. I have come to the conclusion that my life is spiraling out of control: neglecting my health, gaining over 40 lbs., over spending and lack of motivation. So like Obama said the government can only do but so much we as Americans need to take responsibilty for our lives. And that's what I'm going to do! So, here I am ready to start my "New Year's Resolution"...I've let so much go that I have to actully sit down a create a plan as not to overwhelm myself. Here's my list of things I would like to accomplish this upcoming year:
  • Loose weight (40 lbs.)
  • Become more disciplined
  • Get my health in order
  • Get more intuned with my spiritality
  • Start my own business
  • Take control of my finances
  • Volunteer more.
Not exactly in this order, I do know that "Discipline" needs to be my starting point. So wish me luck, this is crucial to my well being...And I am determined to make it work. That's it for now gotta get ready for work..talk to you later.

It's been a while...

I know it's been a while however my reason for the lapse: I am tired, fatigued and stressed. I hate to be a whiner but it is really hard not to when my job or I should say the company I work for is collapsing. I suffer from fibromalgia which is extremely painful at times and creates such fatigue. But on a good note I finally moved to a georgous brownstone just across the street. My new landlaord is kind, considerate and takes a lot of pride in her home.

This apartment is larger with crown molding and elaborate fixtures every where, from the bathroom to the lighting. It's georgous! My landlord painted the the apartment in three different colors that we chose as well as exposed bring where the fireplace is located.

I beleive that I will be spending a lot of time there very shortly, because I think that the last round of layoffs is going to take place which will include me. And beleive it or not that doesn't bother me, I am ready to have my days to myself to try a hand at starting my on business. I sincerely beleive and feel as though I wolud do well at being self employed. Well I am currently at the end of my shift (still at work) ssshhh!! So til next time. Stay positive.

Keep Your Fingers Crossed

I know, I know it's been a while, I haven't been feeling too good lately along with a slight case of the blues. How have you guys been doing? Happy, I hope.

I have almost everything I need to start my own business but time. My dream is to have several online businesses that I can run from home and on my own time. Keep in mind that my job is constantly letting people go, as mentioned in my earlier post. So I need my own thing to fall back on no matter what happens or where I work. It's gotten to the point that I am basically ready to be let go so that I can have time to nurture my own business. I have been telling my self that when it's my time everything will work out. It's like like living everyday disappointed, not a good feeling.

And oh yeah, remember my lazy ass, money hungry landlord well I got some good news today, I might be able to move to larger and well taken care of apartment which is right across the street. There goes the moving costs :). Please everyone keep your fingers crossed that it all works out.

That's it for now I am at work waiting for this teleconference to start. Talk to ya soon and I hope that you all get what you desire. Til next time.

WTF....Too Much At One Time

You know that saying that "You have to take the bad wth the good?" Well I am deep to my knees in bad SH_T! I have one of the laziest and greediest landlords in Brooklyn, We have been here for almost three years and really would like/need to move. Everything here was newly renovated when we moved in...at first glance it was nice. Two months in things started falling apart, paint chipping and plumbing problems. And oh let me not forget to mention that he doesn't fix anything but leaks and that's only because he lives in the basement. The hood over the stove has fallen down, which he was told back in August when it happened, and yes it's still proped up on the back of the stove. The knob on the kitchen sink broke in two. Paint has chipped around the windows and faux fireplace. NOW you would think that that would be enough, right? WRONG this idiot won't let Con-Ed (electric company) in to read the meters for like eight months. So you know what this means right? All the bills I have been paying were estimates and now that he finally allowed them in to get a reading I am stuck with $968.00 bill that I have to pay. I am going to be paying this off until March 2009 with a payment plan. Did I forget to tell you that he doesn't work and is here when Con-Ed comes and just ignores them. There should be a law against landlords who don't give access to meters for monthly readings or at least be held accountable.

Needing to Move--So we start looking for a larger apartment and had a financial plan to pay for the move....that's right you guessed it TAX RETURN! Remember I said knee deep in SH_T well our payroll person at my job(who is no longer with the company) never made the adjustments to my withholdings so here I am owing the government. (Stuck in crappy apartment)

Speaking of jobs... I work at a very well known organization that holds classes, seminars, expos, movie screenings with top name performers in the music & movie industry along with big players in the business world. Well, the owner of this (unspoken) company had a very good business going until greed got the best of him and choosing not to treat his customers with respect, along with really bad business decisions. We as a company have gone from employing close to 150 people from coast to coast to just 15 employees. The owner is trying to come with the next best craze to which those of us who are left don't know if we'll have jobs in a month, if it doesn't work.

Thanks for allowing me to vent and I hope I haven't brought any of you down...As I started out saying "You have to take the bad with the good" I'M READY FOR GOOD NOW!

Oh Yeah! Did you see the GIANTS? What a game! GO BIG BLUE!

Wrong Time

Currently in the bed, just got finished setting up my blog after a long day. I am still in the process of figuring out the setup. The first the thing is the time stamp, for some reason it's showing pacific time and as you can see I'm in NEW YORK. I have all weekend to get it together and then boy do I have stuff to tell you. So yes bare with me, while I work out some of the kinks. Until tommorrow.
